![]() I am not completely adverse to an app but I have no iOS experience. There are some euro samplers but I prefer midi for this type of thing, especially patch recall. If I could access all six voices, this would probably be fine. Bastl's MicroGranny 2 looks great but is monophonic. More recently I have been looking at the Gothermanstuff (LD3 looks amazing!) but I can't figure out the differences from the website and I suspect they offer way more than I want without giving me exactly what I need. I looked at the older MPCs, Electribes, the SP-404 and its predecessors but all fall down in one place or another. I know they are great boxes and admittedly they are quite close but the limitations and added complexity make them non-starters (for the moment). So far I have excluded the Elektron Octatrack and Digitakt primarily due to their known issues with program change and also the complexity for the OT. ![]() I want all samples accessible without loading. ![]() Primary requirements: Immediate selection of samples and control of multiple parameters via control messages. I have been looking at other devices and am asking the community if there is something else I missed. I don't care about the internal sequencer (but again, this would be better and increase the appeal). I'm not pushed about actual recording of samples or resampling (but of course this would be better). With just this one extra feature, I would be happy but since I am asking, the ability to handle longer samples, have multiple outs and midi thru would make it ideal. The main limitation of the Volca (for me) is not being able to change samples via program change. However, the limitations of the format and low price mean that it cannot do everything I need so I am looking for an alternative. In my opinion, the sound engine of the Volca is amazing. The Akai gets very little use although I have plans for it. I have an Akai Z8 and a Volca Sample, very different machines from different eras with their respective pros and cons.
